In 2013, Southern Alberta experienced extreme flooding, including in downtown Calgary. As a Chamber, we knew that our business community was at severe risk of significant negative impact if they were not up and running again as soon as possible.
In partnership with the Calgary Emergency Management Agency, we worked to power our business community through an efficient and effective recovery by creating a network of support. The result was that more than 99% of Calgary’s businesses impacted by the floods reopened successfully. World Chamber Federation Special Project award.
